We just got back from Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort last weekend, and it was AMAZING! I have so much info to share that I’ve decided to split it up into multiple posts instead of just one. Please click the link on the right to sign up for updates if you want to make sure you see it all! If you have never stayed in a DVC (Disney Vacation Club) resort, you will find out from the moment you first interact with a cast member that you’re in for an experience like no other. I was immediately greeted by smiling faces, waves, and hellos from everyone we passed. The concierge came up to me immediately to ask how he could help. This resort definitely has the Disney magic! Check-in was very speedy, and we were given loads of maps and info for the resort and entire Hilton Head area. You are issued a Key to the World Card to use as both your room key and ability to charge back to your room. We took the opportunity to give both Live Oak Lodge & Big Murggie’s Den a once over. We came back here many times during our visit as there are many scheduled activities that occur here. Check out the pictures of the building below! We found out that you can check out board games here (for free) if you need something to keep you busy on a rainy day! And see that photo booth up there? We got just a little sidetracked taking free pictures! We visited this photo booth multiple times. You get a hard copy of your picture, and you can also download them via Disney Photopass. Awesome! Once we were able to pull ourselves away from the photo booth, we decided to head over to our room. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa in building 14. This villa was literally just like home...at least if I had a maid to come clean my home every day it would be. It was so nice to come back to a spotless villa every day! These pictures include both some stock photos and some of my own. I apologize for not taking more of the room before we moved all of our mess in! This particular villa can sleep 9. A king bed in the master, 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom, a foldout sofa, and a foldout loveseat. There are 2 full baths with a jacuzzi in the master suite. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need to cook most meals. In our 5 nights there, the only thing I didn't have when I needed it was a pizza cutter (easily remedied with a knife). There are dishes, cups, etc for 9. They supply laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels, and all you could need for the villa. I am going to stop there for this post. The next will contain info about the Broad Creek Mercantile, equipment rentals, restaurants, pools, and more. Don't forget to subscribe for updates. More is coming soon! We are leaving for our trip to Disney’s Hilton Head Resort on Saturday, and I realized as I was cashing out on some of the ways I earn money that it would be a great thing to write about and share! I’ve mentioned in other blog posts that I look for only the fairly simple ways to save on our vacations, and all 5 of these are uncomplicated. This is without a doubt the easiest way to make money by doing nothing but your normal grocery shopping. Simply scan the code on your receipt, and any items that are on sale for less at local stores will earn you a rebate into your account. When you’re ready to use the rebated funds, simply request your e-gift card. You can use that card at Walmart (or Sam’s Club as they have discounted gift cards) to purchase Disney gift cards. Free Disney money! 2. Shopkicks This is an app where you earn “kicks” for various things. Where and how you earn is ever changing, so it’s best to check it often. Many are earned simply by walking into the store. You can earn more by scanning items, scanning receipts that include specific items, or simply linking a card to your account to earn them for purchases at stores that you’re shopping at anyway! I earned a crazy amount when they had Old Navy at 2 points for every $1 spent. You can turn your kicks into Walmart e-gift cards. Check it out and see if it is something that might work for you! *This link does contain my referral code. 3. Ibotta Ibotta is another app that allows you to earn rebates for items you’re already purchasing. You can redeem as either Paypal or a Walmart/Sam’s Club gift card. If you use my referral code to register, you’ll earn a $10 bonus when you redeem your first rebate. The code is sjv7va. 4. Ebates Oh how I love Ebates! If you do much online shopping, you will earn money fast using this. They often run specials for 6%+ back at very popular stores. All that you have to do is go to Ebates and click on the store that you want to shop at. They automatically track the info and confirm when the order is complete. Checks are sent out quarterly, or you can opt to have it sent via PayPal. Again, this is nothing more than shopping as you already would! *This link does contain my referral code. 5. Sell unwanted items If you’re like me, you probably have a crazy amount of stuff around your house that you just haven’t taken the time to get rid of yet. I try to go through closets, toys, etc 3-4 times a year. I recently did this because preparing for the season change is always when one of these purges occurs. Within just a few days of clearing items from the rooms and closets of my 2 youngest kiddos, I had earned over $200 selling outgrown clothes and toys on local Facebook buy/sell/trade groups. Selling this way has always been far easier and more productive than a garage sale, but that works as well. The key is putting all that you earn aside as vacation money. Hopefully some or all of these help you earn some extra cash for your next Disney trip. Feel free to share a comment on any extra ways you’ve found to earn!
